Lake Corpus Christi & Choke Canyon Water Levels
Live reservoir storage & Nueces Basin river flows — independent, unofficial
This dashboard shows live water-level and stream-flow data for the two reservoirs that
supply Corpus Christi and surrounding communities in the Nueces River Basin.
Data is fetched directly from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Water Data OGC API
and refreshed every 15 minutes.
Reservoirs monitored
- Choke Canyon Reservoir — conservation capacity 662,820 acre-feet (USGS site 08206900)
- Lake Corpus Christi — conservation capacity 256,062 acre-feet (USGS site 08210500)
For each reservoir the dashboard displays current storage in acre-feet, percent of
conservation capacity, and the change in storage since the 10-day event low.
River gauges monitored
Seven USGS stream-flow gauges (discharge in cubic feet per second) feed the
flow schematic and gauge table:
- Frio River near Derby (USGS 08205500)
- Frio River at Tilden (USGS 08206600)
- Nueces River below Uvalde (USGS 08192000)
